mistletoe bay camp
I wake up and remember that today i have camp. So i had my breakfast and did all my morning jobs and my dad and I drove to school. When we got there we started packing immediately. Then we did the roll and left. The drive took about two and a half hours. On the way there we stopped by havalock for fresh air and a free fudge sample. Then we continued onwards to mistletoe bay. Finally we arrived at our destination, Mistletoe Bay. After unpacking and finding our cabins we started our first rotation. For my group it was mountain biking. It was fun and easy. Then I was in bridge building. We had to make a bridge across a river like stream and collect a pipe . Then we had lunch and had our final rotation, for me, sailing. in sailing we had to sail out off the pontoon and around a boy. After some of that we got out the kayaks as well Mr. Ashby splashed us all to the limits. When i got cold i got out and went to my cabin to warm up. Soon after, dinner was ready and we all rushed kitchen for some delicious curry. Mmmm... Curry
To finish off the night we put our minds to the Burma trail. We had to follow a rope in pitch black surroundings while teachers and helpers(tried) to scare you. That finished quickly. Finally
we pressed our minds to some rest. We had a big day ahead of ourselves. The next day we woke up and got dressed ready for breakfast. That also finished quickly as soon after we were packing our day bags ready for a long walk to lochmara. We went at a slow pace allowing everyone to keep up. On the way there we took a turn off to go to the lookout at the top of a hill. It added some more time but it was worth the panoramic view around the sounds. Up top there was a grassy area and a bench.
Up there we had our lunch and rested our bones for a while. It was a blazingly hot for a day but we kept moving the whole
time and we eventually arrived at lochmara. In lochmara we were divided into to groups one for which would be having a tour, while the others, relaxed and got out the kayaks for some fun. Then we had the tour but the tour man had a word with Mr. Ashby asking if we wanted to go onto the flying fox they had there so we got to go on. Everyone in our group went on including Mr. Ashby. Then we caught up to the actual tour. We saw, pigs, birds, eels(the australian shortfin and the new zealand longfin)we also saw weta, chickens and a bee hive.
When we got back a boat was waiting to take us back to mistletoe bay. On the boat ride we passed some seals bathing in nearby rock pools. Then when we got back we got straight into the camp concert we did jokes. The funniest group were doing a face painting act. When we finally had desert we all deserved some well earned rest. The next morning we had some time to sleep in before breakfast. A while later we had breakfast and started orienteering. That didn't last long either. When we got back from orienteering we got chocolate for using the least amount of energy. Yum, Black forest. After that we all had lunch before packing up and leaving for H.S.S.
