The Giant Panda
these are truly magnificent animals unique to china where they spend their time in the forests feasting on bamboo. Also the rarest breed of bears in the world It not only eats, it plants too. As it roams around it spreads seeds sustaining the forest with constant life. When they are newborn they are the size of a stick of butter but will grow to a whopping 330 pounds heavy!
WHY ARE THEY ENDANGERED?
roads and tracks are drilling into its habitat separating them from breeding with one another. Also separating them from dinner with the bamboo. %60 of all pandas have been put into one of the 50 reserves china has established for them. hunters are killing them for their fur and even now when that is restricted they still accidentally shoot them.
HOW COULD WE SAVE IT?
- raise the roads up to a height so that it doesn't separate them from breeding
- plant bamboo around their habitat
- move all the pandas into reserves so that hunters don't get them.
The Sea Turtle
turtles Roam around the seas for decades until they return to the very beach they were born to lay there own eggs. They clean sea beds, coral reefs, and sea grass which are essential for many other fish to survived including: tuna, shrimp and lobster.
WHY ARE THEY ENDANGERED?
Alas, when they are born a mob of seagulls will attempt to kill them before they get in the water. Few survive and it doesn't help that we hunt them either For not only human consumption but we use them for many other things like medicine. Many lose their lives to constant activity over turtle nesting areas. The climate change is responsible for disrupting turtle ratios causing more female turtles to hatch rather than males. It is also attracts storms destroying their nests. They are getting trapped in nets, fishing hooks, litter ect And oil spills dont help.
HOW COULD WE SAVE IT?
- decrease the amount of litter getting into the sea
- establish reserves for them
- stop hunting it
- create turtle habitats further away from the equator so that and equal amount of males are hatched
